Aniline pull-up leather requires attentive care to preserve its natural beauty and distinctive aged character.
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. The pull-up surface is particularly receptive to dirt — regular light cleaning prevents build-up.
Wipe gently with a lightly dampened white cloth. Allow to dry naturally, away from all heat sources. The pull-up effect may temporarily lighten when damp.
Treat spills immediately by blotting carefully with absorbent paper — never rub. Pull-up leather is more susceptible to liquid penetration than coated leathers; act quickly.
Use only specialist aniline or pull-up leather cleaners and conditioners. Standard leather care products or household cleaners can cause irreversible damage. Always test on a hidden area first.
Keep away from direct sunlight and all heat sources. The wax and oil content of Old English makes it particularly susceptible to fading from UV and heat exposure. Do not use solvents or heat guns.
Domestic use: fully clean and re-condition every 3–6 months. Contract use: implement a regular programme tailored to usage levels. Old English benefits from periodic wax conditioning to maintain its distinctive surface character.
